Workshop Preparation

At the end of this month I will be travelling to a Tony Couch Worshop for 1 week of nothing but watercolor painting. In preparation for the workshop, I have been practicing paintings from his workbook. The barn above is one of the exercises. I really enjoy his style and it closely fits the style I am developing. I am looking forward to meeting and learning from Tony.

Jeff,
My wife and I were pleasantly amazed by your work. I love your economy of lines, and also the use of the negative space to compliment the colors that you use.

I am jealous ... both of your skill with the brush and your opportunity to spend a whole week doing nothing but paint!

Oh my, who is teaching whom? This is so lovely your blog is going on my favorites. I am still struggling with watercolor as a newbie to the media and your work is just awesome.

Great job in this excersize- the lost edges at the brightest areas are wonderful, and the loose blending of those colors in the shadows is just lovely. All the work you've posted to this blog is really impressive!

Ditto all the other comments. Beautiful work! The simplicity of design is powerful and the colors so clear and bold.

Really like this watercolor. It just stands out from all of your work. I think it's the colors though they are used sparingly -- just enough. Then again maybe it's the light. All your work is a joy to view.
